Where on the hand: A closed triangle formed in the mid-palm where the Fate line, the Head line and a third line — often a branch of the Life line or the Sun line — intersect.

What it looks like: A clean, closed three-sided figure in the centre of the palm. The partial, open version is common; only the cleanly closed triangle is uncommon.

It indicates the ability to retain earnings, not merely to make them. Money lines show earning capacity; the money triangle shows whether the money stays.

Read with care: Careful readers of both traditions note that partial, vague versions of this figure are extremely common and are usually chance crossings. Only clean, closed versions are uncommon — do not read wealth from an accidental intersection. NOTE ON THE INDEPENDENCE RULE. This reference states elsewhere that a figure formed by chance intersections of major lines is not a true sign. The money triangle and the great triangle are, by definition, formed exactly that way. Both are long-standing named figures in the tradition, so they are retained — but they are a stated exception to the independence rule, not an application of it. The two entries also gave different constructions; the great triangle is Life + Head + Health/Mercury, the money triangle is Fate + Head + a third line.
