Also called: Croix Mystique · Cross of intuition
Where on the hand: In the quadrangle — the space between the head and heart lines, over the Plain of Mars — free-standing and touching neither of the two lines.
What it looks like: A single free-standing cross of two short independent strokes, lying clear in the quadrangle. It must be independent, “not made up of other lines like the fate line”; if the fate line supplies one of the arms it is not a Mystic Cross.
The great positive exception in the cross family: mysticism, intuition, occult interest, a “sixth sense,” prophetic dreams. Findyourfate notes that its exact position within the quadrangle decides whether the mysticism is self-serving or principled.
Read with care: Destiny Palmistry cautions that the Mystic Cross “doesn't automatically indicate psychic abilities.” It is also one of the marks most often mis-identified, since any chance line crossing the fate line inside the quadrangle produces the shape.
