What it looks like: A closed eight-sided figure — eight short independent strokes meeting to enclose a regular octagon, a few millimetres across. It must be fully closed and independently formed, distinct from a square with clipped corners or a cluster of chance crossings.

Dale's single reading: the octagon “burdens the person with landed estates.” The phrasing is deliberately double-edged — property arrives, and with it obligation.
