Where on the hand: A vertical line running up the ulnar half of the palm, parallel to and on the little-finger side of the Fate line, ending on the Mount of Apollo at the base of the ring finger. Its start is highly variable: from the wrist, Luna, the Fate line, the Life line, the Plain of Mars, the Head line or the Heart line.

What it looks like: A vertical crease under the ring finger — often present only as a short segment on the Apollo mount above the Heart line, sometimes running the whole height of the palm; may be single, doubled or multiplied into several faint parallels.

Fame, recognition, reputation, yash and kirti; artistic and creative capacity; the ability to be seen; brilliance; and money that comes with public standing. Distinguish it carefully from the Fate line: the Fate line is what you do, the Sun line is whether the world notices. A strong Fate line with no Sun line = solid career, no renown. A strong Sun line with no Fate line = charm and visibility with no structure.

Western reading: The Line of Apollo, Success or Brilliancy: creative capacity and public recognition, sharply distinguished from the Fate line's career structure. Cheiro noted Sun lines appearing suddenly with a change of circumstance.
