Where on the hand: The three major transverse creases of the palm: the uppermost (the Western heart line) is Heaven; the middle one (the head line) is Human; the one curving round the ball of the thumb (the life line) is Earth.
What it looks like: No new marking — a different naming of the three lines every hand already has, arranged as the classical Chinese triad of Heaven above, Humanity between, and Earth below.
The Chinese framing changes what each line is about. The Heaven line (heart line) is read for the strength of the feelings but also for the Way of Heaven, the father, one's occupation and money luck. The Human line (head line) carries temperament, intellect, marriage, popularity and the fortunes of middle life. The Earth line (life line) carries the mother, children, house and land, span of years and the fortunes of old age. When all three are clear, unbroken and free of stray lines, the classical verdict is a life without want of food or money.
Read with care: Correction: money luck is on the wrong line. The classical formula is 天紋定其貴賤主根基 / 人紋辨其貧富主財帛 / 地紋判其壽夭主福德 — wealth belongs to the HUMAN line (人紋), not the Heaven line.
