Where on the hand: Benham: "a small line rising between the fingers of Jupiter and Saturn, running downward and encircling the Mount of Jupiter, and ending near the beginning of the Life line." It starts in the web between index and middle finger, curves down and around the base of the index finger, and ends at the radial edge near where the Life line begins.

What it looks like: A clean arc encircling the base of the index finger, its ends pointing up between the fingers.

Benham: "a love for occult studies, and of an ability to obtain proficiency in them if other necessary Chirognomic indications be present." In the modern reading it adds wisdom, leadership, insight into people, sympathy, intuition, and sometimes psychic ability. It is frequently found in heavily-lined hands alongside other mystical markings such as the Mystic Cross in the quadrangle.

Western reading: Benham's own treatment, with his warning against treating the ring alone as evidence of occult proficiency.

Read with care: RECONCILED. The Western reading of the Ring of Saturn is negative (it blocks the mount: pessimism, morbidity, preoccupation with death). An Indian minority reading takes it as a mark of occult capacity. Both are recorded; they are not the same claim, and the Western one is the majority position. Note also that the 'only the Ring of Solomon is read as positive' rule stated elsewhere has at least three exceptions in this reference.
