Where on the hand: In the skin ridges of the space between the base of the ring (Apollo) finger and the base of the little (Mercury) finger, entering from the gap between the two fingers and turning back down into the palm.

What it looks like: A single hairpin of ridges dipping down from the finger gap into the fleshy pad between the Apollo and Mercury mounts, its rounded head pointing toward the wrist.

Read as an inborn comic sense — usually a dry, sideways, unconventional wit rather than broad clowning. Its owners are said to see the absurd angle in a situation before anyone else does, to value pleasure and good company, and to defuse tension with a joke. It is one of the more frequently found palmar loops.
