Where on the hand: In the ridges of the Mount of Luna — the fleshy outer heel of the palm below the percussion.

What it looks like: A closed circular or spiral ridge pattern with a clear centre, unlike the open hairpin of a loop. Where two opposed centres appear side by side, it is a composite (double-loop) whorl.

The plain Luna whorl is read as an exceptionally strong and self-contained imagination: vivid internal imagery, powerful visualisation, and a rich private world — with a matching tendency to retreat into it and daydream instead of acting. The composite form is read differently: as ambivalence, seeing both sides of everything, hesitation in decisions and uncertainty in relationships.
