Finger or thumbwesternvery-rare
Also called: Nature loop · Loop of the outdoors · Nature's loop
Where on the hand: On the Mount of Luna, entering from the outer (percussion) edge of the palm at the fleshy heel and flowing inward. The lower it sits toward the wrist, the stronger the reading.
What it looks like: A single flowing wave of ridges travelling in one direction into the heel of the hand and turning back — described as broad and slow-moving compared with the tight finger loops.
Read as a constitutional need for the natural world: an attunement to weather, season and place, an easy instinctive rapport with animals, and often an interest in herbal or holistic healing. Practitioners describe carriers as physically unwell or unsettled when kept indoors or in cities for long, and as needing time outside the way other people need sleep.
Read with care: One well-known source who reports the loop notes she has seen it only 'a handful of times' in years of practice and cautions that it cannot be identified from a photograph — a useful reminder of how much of the rare-marking literature rests on single practitioners' impressions.
