Where on the hand: On the second (logic) phalange of the thumb — the section between the two thumb joints, on the palm side.

What it looks like: Fine lines lying across or along the middle section of the thumb, counted rather than measured; some sources look for lines forming small closed 'bales' or eyes.

Chinese palmistry reads these lines as accumulated money: the more of them, and the clearer they are, the more wealth the person gathers and keeps over a lifetime. It is a reading of accumulation over time rather than of income.

Read with care: Western palmistry reads the same phalange quite differently — vertical lines there as sound logic, horizontal bars as faulty reasoning, a grille as untrustworthiness. The Chinese wealth reading and the Western logic reading are separate systems using the same patch of skin; do not merge them.
