Also called: Yatra rekha · Videsh yatra rekha · Voyage lines
Where on the hand: Travel indications come from four separate places: horizontal lines cutting inward across the Mount of Luna from the percussion; fine lines rising upward from the bracelets into Luna; branches leaving the Life line and running down and outward toward Luna; and branches leaving the Fate line toward the percussion.
What it looks like: Short to long horizontal creases entering the palm from the outer edge across the fleshy Luna mount, plus upward-springing lines from the wrist creases and outward-springing branches from the Life and Fate lines.
Journeys, relocations and migration — and in Indian practice, where this is heavily emphasised, videsh yatra yog: the combination indicating going abroad and settling abroad. The lines also cover restlessness and the desire to travel; on a very soft hand they may represent mental rather than physical journeying.
The four sources of travel indication
- **1. Luna travel lines (primary)** — short horizontal lines on the percussion, cutting inward across the Mount of Luna (the fleshy outer edge below the little finger and above the wrist), running from the outer palm edge toward the centre.
- **2. Rascette travel lines** — fine lines rising upward from the bracelets into the Mount of Luna.
- **3. Life line travel branches** — branches leaving the Life line and running down and outward toward Luna; these indicate journeys that involve *leaving home*, i.e. migration and relocation rather than tourism.
- **4. Fate line travel branches** — branches leaving the Fate line toward the percussion: career-driven travel.

- **Short, faint line** — a minor or work trip.

- **Star on a travel line** — an exceptional journey outcome; a transformative or celebrated voyage.
- **Cross on a travel line** — difficult travel: an accident, or a relocation that goes badly.
- **Island on a travel line** — an interrupted journey, or complications during a stay abroad.
- **Square on a travel line** — protection; safe passage through a dangerous journey.
- **Break** — an incomplete journey, or a partial or reversed relocation.
- **Branches off it** — multiple destinations within one journey.
