Also called: 32 shubh chinha · Bhojraj Dwivedi's list · the 40-sign extended catalogue
Where on the hand: Palm surface generally; the list does not fix locations for most items.
What it looks like: Not a mark. The most-circulated modern list of auspicious palm figures, given as a numbered table of sign and prediction.
Traceable to Bhojraj Dwivedi's Wonders of Palmistry and reproduced across Hindi and English Indian sites, this is the list most people encounter first. It is presented as the marks found on the hands of the fortunate. The extended Hindi catalogues run it on to about forty items.

Read with care: This list has no classical warrant for many of its items and includes the oddly specific 'prosperous despite flatulence' reading of the pond. Treat it as a popular modern tradition rather than as an ancient canon.
