Where on the hand: Judged by looking at the hand edge-on, measuring its depth from front to back rather than its outline.
What it looks like: Thick and padded at one extreme, thin and flat at the other; also read as a gradient, thick at the base and thin at the top, or the reverse.
Thickness reads the weight of the material and instinctual nature against the nervous and mental one. A thick palm carries appetite, strength and endurance; a thin one refinement, idealism and poor stamina.
