Where on the hand: Felt on the palm surface itself, at rest, not immediately after exertion.

What it looks like: Dry and unperspiring at one extreme, moist or frankly sweating at the other; excessive dryness is a third and separate case.

Dry, unperspiring palms are explicitly a royal sign in Samudrika and read as composure, health and self-possession. Moist palms read as nervousness and an unsettled mind. Both traditions treat constant clamminess as a health indication as much as a character one.
