What it looks like: A short vertical handle-line ending in a broad, splayed spray of three to six fine lines that curve outward and downward — like a tassel or a shaving brush in outline.

Royal service and royal power — the chāmara is what attendants wave over a king. The '32 signs' list makes it specifically ministership; other lists give 'royal powers' and general auspiciousness. It is one of the queen-making marks in Bṛhat Saṃhitā 70.
