Where on the hand: Iconographic — one of the eight Jain auspicious symbols; on a palm it would present as a small closed vessel-figure.

What it looks like: A shallow, wide-mouthed dish or flask with a broad flaring rim above a narrow waisted body, sometimes drawn as one shallow bowl inverted over another.

One of the eight Jain aṣṭamaṅgala — the powder-flask or auspicious vessel, a sign of increase (its name means 'the increasing one'). It appears among the auspicious objects of the Buddha-footprint 108 as well.
