What it looks like: Not a mark. The devotional and ritual responses the tradition prescribes for a mark that is present, weak, or inauspicious.
The tradition is generally fatalistic about the marks themselves — a chinha is the fruit of past karma — but activist about what to do with them. The near-universal counsel is that clear marks on the active hand must be worked, not waited on.
