Where on the hand: Across the twelve phalanges of the four fingers, beginning at the third (base) phalange of the Mercury finger on the right hand and counting toward the thumb.

What it looks like: Not a mark but a counting path. On each phalange, look for vertical lines (fortunate) versus horizontal lines, crosses, dots and grilles (difficult).

Indian palmistry uses the twelve finger-phalanges to date good and bad years across a lifetime. Each phalange carries a block of years; the marks found on it tell you what that block held.
