Where on the hand: Palm surface.

What it looks like: A closed or nearly closed loop composed of a chain of small circles, dots or short beads — a string of dots forming an oval. Where it hangs open, a U of beads with a tassel-stroke at the low point, the meru bead.

The person becomes reputed and rich; respectability, honour, wealth. In the japa-mālā reading it marks sustained spiritual discipline. Bṛhat Saṃhitā 70 lists 'a flower wreath' among the queen-making marks.
